Dear Diary,
The truth behind my dog, Jamaica Queenz (Jamaica for short and Maica Maica de cariño) is that she came into my life very unexpectedly. I wasn't ready to be a mother...lol...ella fue un regalo bien inesperado. At first, I was nervous and taken by the whole idea of having to look after another living, breathing thing. Pero eso se me paso bien rapido. Now I can't imagine not having her in my life. Por ahora Jamaica vive en casa de sus abuelos (mis padres), in Jamaica, New York. I flew her out so I could see her and spend some time with her here in L.A.
After today, I can officially say that I have a champion dog...lol. Today, Crash and I enrolled our dogs in the "haute dog" parade. We went all out to prepare them for their big day. We decided we needed to take our dogs to a dog pageant trainer. We wanted him to get them ready for what they were about to take part in. He also groomed them from head to paws. They looked beautiful by the time he was done with them. Crash was in charge of making the costumes.
It was fun to see all the different dogs and their owners in their costumes. I truly saw how far dog owners go to make their dogs winners. I, too, wanted our dogs to win, y yo sabia que teniamos un buen chance, porque in my opinion, although there was some steep competition, Jamaica and Princess were two of the cutest dogs there. We walked by the judges, did our thing, and what do you know? We did win, we won "Best Haute Dog Couture." We were so happy, I yelled like I had just seen a mouse when they called out our number.
I was so excited, and all our dogs wanted to do was get out of those bulky costumes and play. They had no idea what was going on...lol...oh my god, could I be turning into one of those stage moms? Nah, never that. Bueno, I have to go now. I heard of another dog show going on, and I only have 30 minutes to call and enroll Jamaica...lol...jk.
Besos, Yasmin
