I think to a certain degree it's true. I've seen Dominicans get pretty mad when considered black, when in a lot of cases that's exactly what they are, black latinos! And there is nothing to be ashamed of! I find it so interesting and amazing that as Latinos, who all speak the same language, and we all come in different colors! And so what if you have African roots? According to scientists, we all originated in Africa, so humans in general all share that aspect ;].
