Bostich & Fussible

Growing up, Bostich and Fussible hated Norteño music. But, over the last decade, they've made a living off of it.

Members of the headline-generating Nortec Collective (Panóptica, Hiperboreal and Clorofila), Tijuana natives Bostich (Ramón Amezcua) and Fussible (Pepe Mogt) decided to temporarily break off from the crew after touring together for eight years. Despite a recent rift over who actually owns the Nortec trademark, the duo has continued touring and recording in México, the U.S. and Europe.

On their newest release, Tijuana Sound Machine, the pair continues to combine electronic sounds with Norteño accordions and the horns and tubas of Sinaloense music. This time, however, Bostich and Fussible ditch the techno jams for more heady, pop-oriented tracks. The sound of their "Nortec 2.0," influenced by both sides of the border, has been well-received by critics. Entertainment Weekly proclaimed: "Bostich + Fussible hit a sweet spot that's less 'world music' than blissfully whirled music."

Bostich and Fussible are currently on the road, taking their low and high-tech live show for a spin for the remainder of the year.
