Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton scored important primary victories in Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island, ending the 11-state winning streak of Barack Obama, who was victorious in Vermont. Republican John McCain secured the Republican nomination by winning all four primaries. Fellow GOP candidate Mike Huckabee dropped out of the race: "It's time for us to hit the reset button."

Less than one week after voicing support for a bill that would have given the children of illegal immigrants financial incentives to attend college, would-be Republican candidate for the White House Mike Huckabee has apparently changed course. His new immigration plan would require illegal immigrants to register and deport themselves within 120 days or face a 10-year ban on re-entry.
