De chica joven en Long Beach NO viví la vida loca. Estaba muy enfocada en la escuela y era muy cuidada por mis hermanos. No tenía permitido hacer las cosas que hacían mis amigos. Sin embargo, me enseñaron a defenderme cuando se metían conmigo. Tenía puros diezes en la escuela y aparte era buena para los trancazos, en caso de que tuviera que defenderme.

No me peleo con otras cantantes. Simplemente me defiendo de cualquiera que ataca mi persona de alguna manera. He aprendido a ignorarlos. Sin embargo, es un hecho de que tal vez me odien porque recibo mucha atención de la prensa. Así que si encuentran una forma de "llamar mi atención" hablando mal de mi, ¿que crees que encuentran?/ Exacto!, reciben atención de la prensa. O sea, les conviene tener un problema conmigo. Pero no más de so, ya que serán ignorados.

Admiro a cualquier mujer que la hace en la industria musical, especialmente cuando se atreven a ser diferentes a cualquiera. Lady GaGa es un ejemplo de "me vale madres, esta soy yo!" Y la admiro mucho por ello. Aparte de eso, tiene una voz poderosa, su música es pegajosa y es muy divertido bailarla.

¿Estás arrepentida de cantar la cancion "Ovarios"? si o no y porque? (from SoNiA)

Nunca me arrepiento de cantar una canción cuando esta se convierte en éxito. "Los Ovarios" es una canción que escribí desde mi interior. La escribí PARA MI, y no para nadie más. Creo que es conveniente para muchas personas pensar que la escribí para ellos y crear un alboroto y llamar la atención. ¿Entiendes? Me encanta la letra que escribí y me encanta cantarla en el escenario. Siempre recibo una gran respuesta de los fans también.

He escrito algunas canciones que han sido inspiradas por mis hijos, pero no se han grabado aún. Una canción que canto pero que no escribí es "Madre Soltera". Siempre la canto con mis hijos. Me conmueve y me recuerda de las dificultades de ser una madre soltera.

¿Contactada para hacer corridos?, no entiendo la pregunta. ¿Contactada por quien? He realizado todo tipo de corridos, narco corridos, corridos personales, corridos "viejitos". Y nunca he tenido ningún problema por ello.

Si pudiera cambiar un mal hábito mío, sería no ser tan impulsiva. Cuando soy impulsiva y no pienso dos veces lo que hago o digo, es muy fácil meter la pata a la boca.

¿Yo un símbolo sexual? ¡Para nada! Hay muchas mujeres bellas que encajan mejor en esa descripción. Yo creo que soy simplemente una mujer que ha comprobado que no tienes que ser una talla dos para hacerla en la industria musical. Yo me manejo con mucha confianza en mi persona, estoy feliz conmigo misma y tal vez eso sea sexy, pero no me veo como un símbolo sexual.

¿Un disco en inglés cantando pop y R&B? En verdad no me interesa en este momento. Estoy muy contenta haciendo banda y mariachi (y tal vez un álbum con baladas en español).

Ha habido muchos artistas que han influenciado mi carrera como cantante, Lola Beltran, Rocio Durcal, Marisela, Chayito Valdez, Chelo. Pero definitivamente fui inspirada para ser gente de bien por la existencia de mis hijos. Haberlos tenido me empujó a querer ser mejor y darles una mejor vida.

As a child in Long Beach, California, did you really live a "vida loca"? Were you a girl that was always looking for fights or just defending yourself? (from .:SMALLS:.)

As a young girl in Long Beach I did NOT live a vida loca. I was very focused in school and was much taken care of by my brothers. I was not allowed to do the things my friends did. However, I was taught to defend myself when girls messed with me. I was a straight A student and a great fighter when I had to defend myself.

Why are you always fighting with other singers? (from G+J=♥.)

I do not fight with the other singers. I merely defend myself from anyone who wants to attack me in any way. I've learned to ignore them though. However, its a fact that they may hate because I get so much attention form the press. So if they find a way to "get my attention" by talking "ish" what will they get? Exactly! Attention from the press. O sea, les conviene tener un problema conmigo. No more of that though, they will all be ignored.

What do you think about Lady GaGa? (from ♦Edgar♦)

I admire any female who makes it in the music industry especially when they dare top be different from anyone else. Lady Gaga is an example of "I don't give a f*** – this is me!" And I greatly admire her for that. Besides that, she has a powerful voice, her music is catchy and it's very fun to dance to.

Do you regret singing the song "Ovarios (Ovaries)"? (from SoNiA)

I never regret singing a song after its become a hit. "Los Ovarios" is a track that I wrote from down deep in my guts. I wrote it for ME, not for anyone else. I believe it was convenient for certain people to think I wrote it for them and then try to create a fight and get attention. Get it? I love the lyrics I wrote and I love performing it on stage. I always get a wonderful response from the fans as well.

Have your kids inspired any of your songs? (from {.Jr.})

I've written some songs that have been inspired by my children but have not recorded them as of yet. A song I perform but didn't write is "Madre Soltera." I always sing it for my kids. It touches my heart and and reminds me of the difficulties of being a single mother.

Contacted for doing corridos? I don't understand the question. Contacted by who? I have done all types of corridos: narco corridos, personal corridos, "back in the day" corridos. I have never had a problem because of it.

When people hate on me I feel happy. God promises that when people hate on us he will bless us more. So I basically look forward to the blessings! Keep on hating cause I LOVE it. When people hate on you it shows you just how important you really are.

When fans turn their back on me because of a rumor, I feel bad... for THEM.

What habit do you have that you want to change? (from Ruby♥)

If I could change a bad habit of mine, it would probably be to not be so impulsive. When I am impulsive and do not think twice about what I will say or do, it's very easy to put my foot in my mouth.

Have all the Riveras in the music industry ever done an album together? (from ╚»The one & only YAND..)

I think it would be a great for la Dinastia Rivera to do an album together. I actually think we owe it to out fans and will most likely begin working on it soon.

How does it feel to be a grandma? Do you feel old? (from oxovanexox)

I feel WONDERFUL being a grandma. Do I feel old? In no way! I feel blessed, happy, and complete. I think I look great to be a grandmother. Women that feel old when they become a grandmother probably have self esteem issues. I don't. I simply ADORE my grandaughter.

Me a sex symbol? No way! There are so many beautiful women that can match that description. I think I am simply a woman that has proven that you don't have to be a size two to be successful in the music industry. I carry myself with confidence, I'm happy with myself and that may be sexy but I do not see myself as a sex symbol.

When are you going to release an English-language album in R&B or pop? (from Ray)

An English-language pop or R&B album? It really doesn't interest me at this time. I'm very content doing banda and mariachi (and maybe a balada album in Spanish).

There have been many artists that I can say have influenced my singing career: Lola Beltran, Rocio Durcal, Marisela, Chayito Valdez, Chelo. But I was definitely inspired to do good because of my children's existence. Having them pushed me to want to do better and give them a better life.
