Remember the rumors that the Bush administration was using threat alerts to score political points? Tom Ridge, the former Secretary of Homeland Security, is saying those rumors were true.

The Department of Homeland Security sought to assure undocumented immigrants evacuating Louisiana because of tropical storm Gustav that there are "no immigration enforcement operations, and there are no immigration enforcement checkpoints associated with the evacuations."
