Thousands of college students and their supporters marched at various colleges throughout California to protest $1 billion in proposed budget cuts for California universities and community colleges.

The Princeton Review presents its 100 Best Value Colleges for 2010.

Universities that have added "green" majors to their undergraduate programs are seeing the courses fill up at a fast rate. Rob Melnick of Arizona State University: "There's a great perception that there's a sweet spot with energy to do good and do well, and it appears to be the place of job growth."

Lincoln University in Pennsylvania has angered some of its students and members of the community for requiring overweight students to take fitness classes. The school, a historically black university, says it is doing its part to reduce rates of obesity and diabetes in the African-American community.

Students at UCLA and other University of California campuses are protesting a planned 32 percent hike in undergraduate fees. The fee hike increases the yearly cost of attending a University of California school to over $10,000 and does not include book or housing costs.

College may be getting more expensive, but nearly four out of every 10 adults between 18 and 24 were enrolled in college last year, an all-time high.

The cost of college continues to rise: the average yearly cost of a four-year public college is now up to $7,020, over $400 more than last year.

College students are finding it harder to graduate on time. As colleges cut back on staff and eliminate classes, students are forced to wait until they can register for courses that fulfill their requirements.
