Electricity has been restored in Chile after a massive blackout in the earthquake-ravaged country left up to 90 percent of its residents in the dark. Officials say the blackout was not directly earthquake related.

Chile's newly-inaugurated president, Sebastián Piñera, estimates it will cost $30 billion to repair the damage done by last month's devastating 8.8 earthquake.

A number of aftershocks, including a magnitude 6.9 quake, rattled Chile just moments before new President Sebastián Piñera was sworn in.

At least 160 people have been arrested for looting in Concepción, the second-largest city in earthquake-ravaged Chile. Nearly half of the 708 people killed by the 8.8 earthquake in Chile are from Constitución, a small town that was devastated by a tsunami moments after the quake.
