- Houston MC Chamillionaire's second album, Ultimate Victory, combines "intelligence and a sick flow,” according to AllHipHop.com. “Although Chamillionaire shuns vulgarity,” writes Yahoo Canada, “he doesn't sound like a lame rapper without it. He's still successful with his signature fast-paced raps over catchy hooks.”
- The Queen of Latin pop, Gloria Estefan, delivers her tenth studio album, 90 Millas. The Miami Herald finds the album “mechanical and uninspired … from Santana to Arturo Sandoval ... it just seems like they couldn't come up with anything fresh.”
- Puerto Rican pop-rockers Circo are back with their third studio album, Cursi (Campy). The blog Over The Top describes Cursi as a "cool record" that mixes new wave, electronica and pop melodies to create an "'80s-meets-2007 vibe that sounds old yet new." The New York Post loves Circo's “futuristic" sound: "Puerto Ricans can boast about having the best salsa bands and reggaetón rappers in the world, sure. But now, islanders can brag about having an exceptional rock group, too."
- James Blunt, the British singer best known for the mega-smash hit You're Beautiful, returns with his sophomore album, All The Lost Souls. “Blunt again delves into pretty folk pop ... showing a gift for drabness on forgettable ballads that make Coldplay seem like the Arctic Monkeys,” writes Rolling Stone. Entertainment Weekly completely disagrees and gives All The Lost Souls a "B+" rating: "There's something almost punk rock about his steadfast refusal to rock."
