Illegal Immigrants have a higher risk of being infected with AIDS, according to a report by the California HIV/AIDS Research Program at the University of California. The report concludes that undocumented Mexican men are more likely to take drugs, sell their bodies for sex and engage in unprotected sex with prostitutes.

The rate of Latino immigrants infected with HIV and AIDS is on the rise. According to federal officials, Latinos represented 22 percent of new HIV and AIDS cases in the U.S, despite making up only 14 percent of the U.S. population. Frank Galvan of the Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science: "You combine the economic pressures, loneliness and immigration worries, and it pushes these individuals to be a hidden population."
