Nelson Díaz, better known as DJ Nelson, claims to have coined the term "reggaetón" in the early '90s when he put out a mix with the new sounds coming from the ghettos of San Juan, Puerto Rico. This week, Nelson releases a new collection of reggaetón anthems titled The Flow, Vol. 1, which includes tracks by Mr. Notty, Alberto Stylee, Hector & Tito, Winchester Daddy Yankee, Baby Rasta Y Gringo and El Gran Camaleón. Next month, he'll release a DVD music collection that chronicles reggaetón's greatest hits from 1997-2003.

El güero Beck is back with The Information, his seventh major studio album. Although it was leaked on the Internet back in September and the critic's reviews have been decent so far, tracks like "Cellphone's Dead," the quirky do-it-yourself cover art and the DVD with videos of each track make the album worth your while. The mellowest Scientologist of them all is on a US tour promoting the new album.

G-Unit hardcore rapper Lloyd Banks returns with his second album Rotten Apple. The 50 Cent affiliate says his new release explores the dark side of New York City with tales of growing up in Jamaica, Queens. Bank's sophomore album was produced by 50 Cent, Eminem, Sha Money XL and Needlz.

Through the '80s and early '90s Ana Torroja fronted Mecano, one of Spain's most loved pop groups. Torroja's solo career has never reached the heights of her former band, but it has produced some satisfactory, if forgettable, releases. So important is her legacy that Torroja has just put out an album full of Mecano covers titled Me Cuesta Tanto Olvidarte (It's So Hard to Forget You). The album was produced by Aleks Syntek, one of Mexico's most succesful pop music producers, who turns Mecano's new wave pop songs into Mariachi and rumba ballads.
