A new chapter of the Chosen Few, El documental, is released today. If the first installment was an introduction to reggaeton and Latin hip hop culture, the Chosen Few II promotes the genres as a major force in mainstream music, documenting two years of commercial success. The Queens-based director and producer Boy Wonder (Manuel Alejandro Ruiz) packs over three hours of music, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from the first Chosen Few tour on the new CD/DVD release. El Documental features the appearances of Wisin Y Yandel, Zion Y Lennox, Fat Joe, LDA, Pitbull, Plan B, Trick Daddy, Hector El Father and N.O.R.E.

Pop duo Sin Bandera (Without A Flag), comprised of the Mexican Leonel García and the Argentinian Noel Schajris, release their fourth album this week. Pasado sees the Mexico-based act return to the clean and acoustic sound of their previous recordings with an album consisting mostly of covers of songs by Miguel Bosé, Luis Miguel, Aleks Syntek, Alejandro Sanz, Emmanuel and Ricardo Montaner. The album's first single, Si tú no estás, originally sung by Rosana, is slowly garnering airplay on U.S. radio for the Latin Grammy-nominated pair.

Tenacious D, the "greatest rock band in the world," releases The Pick of Destiny, the soundtrack to their fictional biopic of the same name. The duo, formed by comedians Jack Black and Kyle Gass, have always had a penchant for 70s heavy rock mixed with strung-out, absurdist lyrics about satanás (Satan) and trying to make it in the music business (Satan-worship). The movie, which opens next week, closes the circle and tells the tale of the Tenacious D legend, which started nearly 20 years ago and has made Jack Black, the recent star of Nacho Libre, into one of Hollywood’s hottest comedians.

Jarvis Cocker, or "El Jarvo" to many of his hardcore fans, finally releases his solo debut album. After fronting the Britpop band Pulp for more than 20 years and being one of the most fashionable and respected icons of the British music establishment, both as a band leader and music video director, Jarvis has seen and lived it all; from punk to new wave, from I.D.M. to britpop. While Pulp is still forever on hiatus, Jarvis makes a welcome return with characteristic anglo candor as in his latest song about "rhymes with stunts" still running the world.
