- January 30: Study finds that immigrants' skin tone affects their earnings.
- February 23: A Republican student club at NYU organizes a Find the Illegal Immigrant game.
- June 14: The family of a U.S.-born, developmentally challenged 29-year-old man is suing the U.S. government, alleging that he was wrongfully deported and is now missing somewhere in Tijuana, México. (via The Latin Americanist)
- August 21: Elvira Arellano, the Mexican woman who has lived in a Chicago church for the last year to avoid being deported and separated from her eight-year-old U.S.-born son, was arrested after attending a church meeting in Los Angeles and was later deported to Tijuana. Arellano has become a symbol of the growing sanctuary movement.
- August 28: An estimated 750,000 legal permanent residents may be asked to renew their green cards at a cost of $370 because the cards, issued in the 1980s, have no expiration date. The proposal may prompt some residents to apply for citizenship.
- October 25: The DREAM Act, a bill that would have given the children of illegal immigrants a path to U.S. citizenship based on college enrollment and/or military service, was defeated in a narrow Senate vote.
- December 19: U.S. border patrol agents are firing tear gas into Mexico in response to "an increasing number of attacks" by smugglers throwing rocks, bottles and bricks.

Mijacita, that's pretty unlikely.
The Pew Hispanic Center puts the number of undocumented or illegal immigrants in 2004 at just over 10 million, with Mexicans at 57% of the total.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as little as four years ago, 53% of the U.S. foreign-born population was born in Latin America.

idk why latinos wanna come to this country. this country is illustrated as a loving caring country, when, in reality, theyre a buncha corrupt people looking for something better to do, so they pick on latinos, knowing that they would have a better life here. just go to like canada.
