Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, a Republican with a 40-year career in the Senate, was convicted on seven counts of corruption. Maintaining his innocence, Stevens says he will "remain a candidate for the United States Senate."

ohhh Reminds me of a poem I wrote....

why is it that people with authority
are doubted the most?
could it be the fact that
they take advantage of their power
become CORRUPT
devise ways to make the poor poorer
the rich richer
penalizing the poor for having no way out
the same reason
why MOST of those with power
deserve no respect
what's power
in the hands of those
that only help THEMSELVES?!
