Spanish basketball player Jose Calderon defended a controversial photo in which he and his teammates made a slanty eyes gesture: "We felt… it would be interpreted as an affectionate gesture." Teammate Pau Gasol offered an apology: "If anyone feels offended by it, we totally apologize for it."

well when things are done they're done you can't change them and to me that didnt seem like an "affectionate gesture" it was rude and y does only one player talk for the whole team??

i dont think they were being affectionate, no one thinks of being "affectionate" when they do that.

If i were him i wouldn't of said "affectionate" lol.
Although it was rude, i don't think they deliberately meant to offend anyone when taking it. cuz we all joke around sometimes, although when i do its not posted all over the world.... !! o0ps on their part.
