Erik Camayd-Freixas, an Spanish interpreter for immigrants in federal criminal court, says many of the immigrants are rushed through court proceedings and do not fully understand the criminal charges they face or the rights they sometimes waive: “The great majority were under the impression they were there because of being illegal in the country, not because of Social Security fraud.”

sadly this is true i went to court couple weeks ago to translate for my dads friend i ended up being the translater for like 6 people.....but i helped them kinda mest up they dont know whats going on

it just prooves the law system is suking eggs
...my mums used to be an interpreter on phone lines BUT its different cus all you can do is EXACTLY that, translate
as much as u want to break it down to the person & help them, ur just standing between to people who dont understand eachother...
worst part is that they call with one doubt & end up with another two doubts by the time they hang up... very unfortunate

true but obviously one should know that by using somebody elses social security number its a bad idea n specially because its against the law, but its not me to judge.
