Video game consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 use more electricity than refrigerators, even when placed on "stand by," according to an Australian consumer agency. Experts recommend turning off or unplugging the PS3, which reportedly guzzles five times more electricity than a fridge over the course of a year. (via Gizmodo)

Whoa! That is a lot. I thought the fridge was the one and only thing that used the most electricity in a house.
