True story: The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada tells the story of a man shot at the border and brought back into Mexico to be buried by his friend. Directed by Tommy Lee Jones, who lives in Texas, and written by Guillermo Arriaga – the screenwriter of Amores Perros – who lives in Mexico, the movie was inspired by the death of Esequiel Hernandez, an American citizen shot to death by Marines who mistook him for a drug trafficker. It's known as "the other cowboy movie" from 2005.
