Raúl Baduel, ex-defense minister of Venezuela, says former boss Hugo Chávez is attempting to distract people from domestic troubles by picking a fight with Colombia: "This is a desperate attempt by President Chávez to use the military for political and personal ends, making them participants in an action whose consequences could be disastrous."
