Latina high school students have a higher rate of suicide attempts than their white and black counterparts, according to a report by the Centers For Disease Control. According Washington University's Dr. Luis Zayas, the daughters of poor immigrants who battle their mothers over Latin American vs. U.S. gender roles, are more likely to consider suicide.
