Mexico's Congress will end a three-day debate over the legalization of marijuana for personal use. President Felipe Calderón is opposed to strategy but opposition party members believe it is the most effective way to quell drug cartel violence. (via Latin Americanist)

idk this sounds like some serious stuff n depending on how legalizin it is handled if it passes. but i think that most ppl r willin 2 do n e thing pa' ke da carteles go away so

I don't really think their going to legalize it right now just cuz of the whole anti-drug cartel campaign going on right now but what they should do if they really do intend on legalizing it is to let things cool-down/posepone it and meanwhile pass some bills that at least make it legal to carry and or have in small amounts.

I don't think legalizing it will be the solution...but we'll see what happens I guess.

i think taht the president of mexico is opposing to the legalization of marihuana because thats kinda his oly source of money because drug transport and growth its the thing that happens the most in mexico. and he be getting money from it

there will always be marijuana everywhere.
~there'z 7 major cartels scattered all over mexico competing over the drug business.
~it sounds stupid to me to legalize tht law bout PERSONAL USE cuz ??who u thnk they gnna get the yeska frm??
~even if u catch all da boss cartels, it'll repeat itself over again because lil drug dealers will get their business growin till they bcume 1 of the major cartels & start anthr "guerra de los carteles"
~but then again it might decrease the violence and death going round.
