Pope Benedict says condoms are not the answer to Africa's AIDS problem: "It (AIDS) cannot be overcome by the distribution of condoms. On the contrary, they increase the problem." At least 25 million Africans have died from AIDS in the last 30 years.

wow im really sad to hear that comment against the Pope, please show some more respect when your talking about someone such as the Pope!

I have to agree with the Pope in that the main problem leading to the AIDs epidemic in Africa is also due to the dwindling economic stance, a third-world country such as Africa does not only suffer in the economic sense but also suffers morally because of it. Now it is true that AIDs can be passed through drugs, but realistically speaking more than 60% of the worlds population who have AIDS live in Africa, so maybe abstinence ISN'T such a bad idea in Africa!
