- Mexican officials captured Gustavo Rivera Martinez, a "key drug lord" based in Tijuana who was wanted by both the FBI and the DEA.
- The Los Angeles Times reports that the final Harry Potter book will be split into two movies, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, scheduled for release in 2010, followed by "Part II" in 2011. (via Vulture)
