- Nando has reportedly parted ways with Los Súper Reyes after being unable to come to a contract agreement with Cruz Martinez.
- A U.S. Marine who was born in El Salvador gets his citizenship approved after being profiled by CNN: "I finally get to wear the uniform of my country. I don't feel left out."
- Cuba will now allow ordinary citizens to purchase and use cell phones. The phones will require a pre-paid plan in foreign currency that will likely make it too expensive for most Cubans.
- U.S. Democratic Party chief Howard Dean asked presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to tone down their personal attacks: "I think the candidates have got to understand that they have an obligation to our country to unify."
- Amazon and Rockstar Games have announced that the forthcoming video game Grand Theft Auto IV will allow players to buy DRM-free MP3s while they play the game.
