- Scientists predict Bolivia's mountain glaciers, which provide 35 percent of La Paz's drinking water and 40 percent of its electricity, will melt in the next 30 years due to global warming. The Chacaltaya mountain glacier near La Paz has shrunk from 49 feet thick to 10 feet thick in less than a decade and is expected to disappear by next year.
- Jennifer Lopez is reportedly worried that her former assistant – now employed by Dayanara Torres, ex-wife of Marc Anthony – will divulge family secrets to the public. (via Oh No They Didn't!)

- Cuba's de facto first lady and wife of acting President Raul Castro, Vilma Espin Guillois, passed away at the age of 77.
