- Actress Cameron Diaz has apologized for offending Peruvians after she was spotted in Machu Pichu carrying a bag decorated with Chinese communist imagery. For many in Perú, the bag's red star and Maoist slogan, "Serve the People," is a reminder of the Maoist Shining Path guerrilla insurgency that led to the deaths of at least 70,000 people.
