Four out of 10 inmates in federal prison are Latino, making Latinos – both U.S. citizens and immigrants – the most represented ethnic group in the federal prison system. Nearly half of all Latino prisoners were convicted of immigration crimes, followed by drug offenses.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder says America is a "nation of cowards" when it comes to discussing racial issues.
