- Today is Super Tuesday. The Democratic presidential hopefuls will battle it out in primaries and caucuses throughout 22 states with 1,681 delegates at stake. The Republican presidential hopefuls will compete for 1,023 delegates in primaries caucuses in 20 states.
- Nearly five million people marched throughout Colombia yesterday to protest the activities of the country's largest rebel group, FARC, who are accused of kidnapping and holding over 700 people hostage.
- Cuban percussionist Tata Guines, who was nicknamed "King of the Congas," died in Cuba at age 77.
- The death of rapper Pimp C, aka Chad Butler, has been ruled accidental by the Los Angeles County Coroner. The Texas-based member of UGK overdosed on Promethazine/Codeine cough syrup which proved fatal when combined with a pre-existing sleeping condition Butler suffered from called sleep apnea.
- Will.i.am, Common, Nicole Scherzinger, John Legend, Scarlett Johansson and other celebrities endorse Barack Obama in a new video titled "Yes We Can."
- British pop star Lily Allen and electronic musician Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers have broken up after dating for three months. The 22-year-old Allen suffered a miscarriage last month.
