- The U.S. signed a $2.3 million aid package to help Guatemala fight drug trafficking and gang violence.
- Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez finally changed Venezuela's official time zone by shifting clocks back by thirty minutes at midnight this past Sunday, in order "improve the metabolism of workers and allow children to attend school in sunlight."
- Mega-producer and rapper Dr. Dre says that his forthcoming album, Detox, seven years in the making, will be his last.
- Listen to "Blue Magic," the first single from Jay-Z's upcoming album, American Gangster, featuring Pharrell.
- Former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori has been extradited back to Peru where he will face charges of corruption and sanctioning death-squad killings. Peruvians are divided over Fujimori's legacy and the trial may "open a can of worms" in laying bare the nation's corrupt politics.
